Eco-Conscious Wedding Planning Reduce, Reuse and Recycle!
Weddings have historically been a dumping ground for waste & excess. This includes past wedding planning practices. We try, as much as possible, to be eco-conscious in our daily work habits, and when providing your wedding services. Each of us doing our best to leave a smaller footprint, adds up. We’re not perfect, but we’re trying to be!
In Your Wedding: * Guest water is provided using a chilled beverage decanter to avoid using disposable plastic water bottles. We also provide reusable acrylic or glass drinking glasses & linen napkins. * All food is served using reusable acrylic or glass serviceware & linens. * If disposables are a must we use recyclable (or biodegradable) materials. * We purchase in season, organically grown, pesticide free flowers, when available. * Our Caterers & Bakers use in season, organic food ingredients, when available. * We purchase from environmentally conscious suppliers. * Recycle bins are discreetly available on site on your wedding day (decorative covered baskets with ornate signs hidden from direct view). Don’t worry, we’re not going to stick a nasty Rubbermaid trash can next to your wedding aisle :) * If we’re handling the guest RSVP’s for you, we use an online RSVP site to save on paper. * We only provide fresh rose petals for the wedding aisle because they are biodegradable. Silk rose petals are not available in our services. * Repurpose natural elements: We try to avoid using plastic elements in your wedding décor by using wood, basket weave, burlap, branches, glass, etc. * If plastic is a must we try to purchase recyclable (or biodegradable) materials.
In Our Office Space: * Use energy saving LED bulbs & energy conserving practices. * Purchase recycled office supplies, reuse to reduce waste, then recycle. Embrace the Digital Age: * We use virtual wedding planning where most everything is cloud based or digital in house.
Other Ways Your Wedding Is “Green”: * Outdoor Venue: By having your wedding outdoors you’re as green as it gets! There are no emissions, energy hogging bulbs, toxic cleaning product fumes, it’s all natural!
We are always trying to lessen our footprint & provide services that are environmentally coconscious. If you have any questions regarding this, or have any ideas how we can do better, please Contact Us with your comments.
